ABOUT JULIA
Julia Kasimova is a Russian pianist, composer, and singer. Born into a Udmurt-Tatar family, she has been immersed in the musical, cultural, and traditional heritage of these two ethnic groups since childhood.

This deep-rooted influence is reflected in her music, where she seamlessly blends elements of various styles.

Her work serves as a testament to how different cultural aspects can merge to create something new and extraordinary.
Julia was born in 1993 in Balezino, a town in the Udmurt Republic. She began playing the piano at the age of six and started composing her own tunes at home around the same time. After completing music school, she moved to Izhevsk at the age of 16 to study classical piano at the Udmurt Republic Music College.

During her second year at college, Julia discovered a passion for jazz and decided to shift her focus. After excelling in her studies, she entered the Kazan Institute of Culture and Arts in 2014, where she studied under Andrey Rudenko. During this period, she formed her first quartet, Room 89, which she performed with until 2018. She also played with the city jazz orchestra and taught ensemble classes at TISBI University of Management.
