Julia Kasimova Quartet
Julia Kasimova Quartet is a jazz ensemble founded in 2020 by pianist, vocalist, and composer Julia Kasimova. The sound of the quartet blends elements of modern jazz, classical music and traditional influences from different cultures, resulting in a distinctive and immersive musical experience that resonates with jazz and classical audiences alike, as well as crossover listeners.

Members of the Quartet:
Julia Kasimova – piano, vocals, composition
Joseph Bijon – guitar
Jonathan Collin - Bouhon – double bass
Nathan Triquet – drums

In 2024, the ensemble was awarded the DownBeat Student Music Award for Best Small Jazz Combo. Currently, Julia Kasimova Quartet is actively performing and preparing for the release of their debut album.
Live performances have taken the Julia Kasimova Quartet, among others, to the Em Bebbi Sy Jazz Festival in Basel, as well as to various stages across the Swiss jazz scene.
The quartet’s unique sound emerges from the interplay of its members, with each instrument playing a distinct role in shaping the ensemble’s recognizable style. By breaking genre boundaries and blending traditional motifs with contemporary sounds, the quartet embodies the idea of unity that transcends borders between people and cultures.
Their music conveys the belief that we all share one planet and must support and respect each other’s right not only to choose where to live, but also to create freely, express themselves, and pursue their artistic and personal aspirations. The quartet’s work reflects a deep commitment to fostering understanding and connection through music, emphasizing the importance of diversity and cultural exchange. This philosophy makes their art accessible and meaningful to a wide and varied audience.
